Why I'm Relaunching Create Grow Expand

Before I share this new chapter, I want to tell you why I'm relaunching Create Grow Expand in the first place.

CGE started from a very different place than where it is today. Years ago I was going through one of the most uncertain periods of my life. I was battling cancer. When you go through something like that, you ask questions you avoided before. How much time do I have? What happens if I'm not here? What happens to everything I've spent my life building?

I had spent more than 30 years in real estate. I'd made mistakes and had successes, and I'd built up a tremendous amount of knowledge along the way. I started thinking about what happens to all of that if I'm not around to pass it on. Originally, CGE was something I was developing to help train my daughter. Not just the theory. The real business.

But something happened along the way. I got stronger. I recovered. And my perspective started to change. Why keep all of this within my own family? Why not teach other people who want to create something of their own?

Then my life evolved too. I realized that building a business and building a life aren't necessarily the same thing. You can build things that look successful from the outside and still wake up one day and ask yourself, is this really the life I want?

That question led me to Punta Cana, to golf, to entrepreneurship in a different way, and to something I call reinvention. CGE still has the real estate foundation, and I still want to teach it. But I've come to believe success isn't just about what you build. It's also about who you become while you're building it.
